Bean Mosaic Virus

Causes a mottled light and dark green mosaic-like pattern on leaves (they often look like they are variegated) and downward cupping along each leaflet. Depending upon the age, variety of plant and strain of virus they may not have a significant effect on the plant or they may cause stunting and severely reduce the harvest.

Treatment / Useful Links

Best practices are to use clean, uninfected seed (know your source), and remove all dead plant material from the previous year. Can be transmitted to other plants by aphids, or by the gardener. Be sure to wash tools and hands after handling affected plant material. No treatment for this cure beyond selective pruning and preventative measures.
